Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) funding available to help reduce suicide rates across Liverpool

Public Health Liverpool and the Safe from Suicide Team at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust have identified funding it would like to use to commission a voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) organisation, to help reduce suicide rates across the Liverpool City Council area.

Areas of identified need

The aim of this micro-commissioning programme is to encourage VCSE organisations to develop suicide prevention activities for Liverpool residents.

The VCSE organisations applying for the funding should be able to demonstrate that they can support suicide prevention in terms of physical health and long-term conditions. We welcome interest from organisations that can mobilise immediately and have the appropriate governance and safety in place for anyone wanting to engage in activities.

One VCSE organisation will be awarded the £15,000 funding, which is for a 12 month fixed-term period, from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025.

Qualifying criteria

The service must be delivered within the Liverpool City Council Footprint, for Liverpool City residents only.

VCSE organisations who are interested in applying and have the appropriate governance and assurance policies in place, should complete the application form

The closing date for receiving completed application forms is 5pm on Monday 4 November.

The successful organisation will be notified by 18 November, with finance and contracts to be awarded in December 2024. There is an expectation that the suicide prevention activities will be fully mobilised by January 2025.
