Mersey Care’s Silver Birch Hubs are holding their first ever webinar designed to help women, birthing people, partners and families across Cheshire and Merseyside to manage the difficult emotions during the maternity experience.
The one hour event, which takes place on two dates during Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week (5-11 May 2025) is open to anyone who wants to hear from experts on how to cope with the difficult demands of pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond.
The webinars will cover what are grounding skills and how can they help parents, with those attending having the chance to experiment with some of those skills. The dates of the webinar are below and you must register for it in advance by either filling in this form or scanning the QR code below.
“We thought it was a great opportunity to speak to parents to be, mums and new parents and provide expert advice and support they can use as their children grow,” said Rebecca Hunter, Clinical Psychologist in Silver Birch Hubs at Mersey Care.
“We want it to be a really inclusive event that can teach the grounding skills required to help manage difficult emotions during the maternity experience. It’s informal so bring your lunch and a cup of tea and listen along - bumps and babies are welcome!”
Mersey Care’s Maternal Mental Health Service, also known as the Silver Birch Hubs, provides treatment and care to families across Cheshire and Merseyside following loss, distress or trauma during pregnancy and birth.
Our therapists, psychologists, assistant psychologists, specialist midwives and peer support workers, can help you identify distress that has come from your maternity, neonatal or reproductive journey. They support trauma, loss and fear around pregnancy and the maternity setting for those experiencing moderate to severe mental health.
