For service users and members of the public

There are a few different ways you can get involved in research as a service user or member of the public. You can participate in a study, or you can get involved in patient and public engagement and involvement which helps inform our research plans and approach.

Visit our projects webpage to find out more about studies being conducted by Mersey Care, our research centres, and by our partners.

You can also find a list of research projects that you can actively get involved in across the NHS and beyond via the websites below.

Join Dementia Research

Join Dementia Research is run by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) in partnership with Alzheimer Scotland, Alzheimer's Research UK and Alzheimer's Society. The service enables people to register their interest in participating in dementia research and be matched to suitable studies.

If you are passionate about improving mental healthcare and treatments, there are opportunities for you to get involved in patient and public involvement and engagement through the Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC). M-RIC is a partnership between Mersey Care and the University of Liverpool which aims to improve mental healthcare through groundbreaking research. If you join as a public advisor, you will get the opportunity to learn more about our research and participate in workshops, events, and other projects to ensure the voice of service users and carers is at the core of our research.
