Q. What happens next?
A. The information you provide on the referral form will be used to consider whether you meet the podiatry referral criteria and are eligible to have a podiatry assessment.
Q. What happens if you DO NOT meet the podiatry service referral criteria?
A. You will be notified in writing that you do not meet the criteria based on the information provided.
Q. What happens if you DO meet the podiatry service referral criteria?
A. Following receipt of your referral, you will be contacted by post by the podiatry department regarding your assessment and appointment.
Q. What happens at your podiatry appointment?
A. At the first appointment, the podiatrist will assess both your medical and foot health needs and how this is affecting you. A treatment plan will be jointly agreed which may include podiatry treatment, together with foot health education and advice on self-management and self-help. Where appropriate, further appointments will be arranged, or you may be discharged from the service.
Q. What happens if a home visit is requested?
A. Where a home visit is required , a GP referral is essential. Please contact your GP to complete a referral on your behalf.
