Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions such as back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain will be experienced by most adults at some point during their working life. They are a common cause of sickness absence but if they are identified early and managed well, most of the time they should not result in time off work.
Work plays a large role in keeping you healthy and evidence tells us that going to work is good for both your physical and mental health.
If you are experiencing joint and muscle pain, the information and advice shared through pages below should help you remain well in work and/or to support your return to work.
How to use these pages
We provide targeted information and advice through our desk-based and non-desk based sections as some advice is dependent on the type of work you are completing, but in our other sections the information is relevant for all types of roles.
