What you can expect from us

At the appointment, we will:

Referrals
The Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service in St Helens has an open referral system, which means that any person in the child’s life can refer with permission from the child’s legal guardian.
To make a referral, please complete our referral form ensuring all information is included and send it to: mcn-tr
We can see your child in: nursery, school, at clinic or at home. We will assess your child’s speech, language and communication needs and share outcomes and agree the next steps.
We offer one to one therapy sessions. This intervention could be within the nursery setting or classroom to ensure your child has a communication friendly environment.
This involves a therapist or therapy assistant talking through the targets and demonstrating activities to support your child’s communication through others in their language/home environment.
