Who are we and what do we do?

Our team tries to help and support young people and their carers/families who may have come into contact with the police or another criminal justice agency. We also work with young people who have not come into contact with the police. You don’t have to speak to us but we want to let you know that you can contact our team (on the details below) and we can offer support in the following areas:

  • Mental health which can include feeling sad, angry, upset, worried
  • Learning difficulties/disabilities
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • School, college and jobs
  • Money (debt and benefits
  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Talking to someone.

Who do we see?

We try to see all children and young people, age 10 and above, who have contact with the police and/or courts to help you to get support for anything you may be struggling with.

Where do we work?

We work in Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral in all Merseyside police stations and courts, including the youth court. We are also based within the YOT/ YOS and can see you at school, college, work or home.

Who do we work with?

You are the most important person we work with. We also work with other teams including CAMHS, YOT/ YOS, police, courts and social care to help support you and get the most appropriate outcome from your contact with the criminal justice system.

In court, please knock on our office door or ask the YOT court team to speak with us. We’re based on the Liverpool Youth Court landing.
