Members learn about the future Life Rooms Model and the Zero Suicide  Alliance

Trust members gathered on 28 February at our latest Members Event held at Aintree Racecourse. Elaine Darbyshire, Executive Director of Communications, Corporate Governance and Estates opened the event.

The 100 strong audience heard from Michael Crilly, our Director of Social Inclusion and Participation on the Life Rooms,  A social Model of Health and our plans to expand the much loved Life Rooms model. Michael outlined the various offering at the Life Rooms all provided under the Charter, developed by the Life Rooms users and staff together, that they will:


  • Value everybody
  • Provide learning and opportunities
  • Improve quality of life
  • Promote hope
  • Reduce stigma


Michael also informed our members of the impact of the Life Rooms model on the health and care system, the person, their careers and families and the community.

Then Elaine Darbyshire gave a presentation on the Zero Suicide Alliance which has helped to ensure over 452,000 individuals have undertaken  suicide prevention training, has held 3 national conferences and has over 1,000 members.

Elaine outlined the valuable resources provided through the Alliance in an easy to access and easy to apply recourse bank. Going forward, there are plans to ensure 1,000,000 people are trained which will be a significant achievement in a strive for zero suicide.

A 45 minute Question and Answer session afterwards gave members the chance to ask questions of the Trust’s senior management team.
