Brew Monday

Blue Monday is a name given to a day in January (typically the third Monday of the month) reported to be the most depressing day of the year.

So we wanted to do something on what is thought to be the most depressing day of the year, to break stigma and use the power of a brew to bring people together.

Depression is one of the key risk factors for suicide, as over 90% of people who die by suicide have clinical depression or another diagnosable mental disorder.

Suicide is the single biggest killer of men aged under 50, with one man taking his life every 2 hours in the UK alone.

One of the main issues is that there is a stigma around speaking out about mental health and suicide, which stops people talking about their problems.

Which is why we've turned 'Blue Monday' into 'Brew Monday' and we'll be holding Big Brew events across the country to get people talking and speaking out about their problems.

You can get involved in numerous ways, by attending one of our 'Big Brew' events (see below also), hosting your own 'Big Brew' event and/or accepting our #Brewfie Challenge
