Our Warrington Recovery Team is delighted to have launched a community garden and allotment project in collaboration with Warrington Borough Council (who kindly provided the land). The project, facilitated by Occupational Therapists, Beccy Brown and Tracey Emery, will learn, with service users, about: nature, horticulture, growing fruit, veg, herbs and flowers and will incorporate this knowledge into learning about healthy eating and cooking. The group will use horticulture therapeutically whilst also including elements such as mindful practice, nature meditations, service user involvement and social engagement.
Wickes have been extremely generous and donated £300 worth of tools and equipment to help the project get started! For further information please contact Beccy or Tracey on 01925 666 660.
