Help For Young Adults

Just as your body can become unwell, your mind can too - and it can be confusing and frightening. Feeling low happens to us all but if these feelings are stopping you from getting on with your life it may be time to tell someone or ask for help.

Mental health problems are more common than you might think, but it’s not always easy to talk about it to friends or family. And yet talking is the first step to getting better.

If you can, share it with a friend or someone else you can trust. Ask them to go with you for help.  If you have a good relationship with your doctor, make an appointment. If you don’t feel comfortable seeing your family doctor you could ask to see another doctor. If your surgery is closed, there will be an out of hours number you can call.

Is it an emergency?

If you feel like might harm yourself or someone else call 999 for an ambulance or go to their nearest Accident & Emergency department.
