'Primary Care Psychological Services PCPS offers a choice of psychological interventions for men in HMP Liverpool. These include low intensity psychological interventions, counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy and cognitive analytic therapy. The inclusion criteria is that men have to be able to engage in time limited psychological interventions. There are no other exclusion criteria and therefore we see men with a variety of problems including trauma, personality issues and anger issues as well as those with depression and anxiety. Referrals come from other health professionals, prison staff and prisoners and are processed through the Single Point of Referral meeting.
The service has excellent clinical and client satisfaction outcomes and is recognised nationally for its quality.’
