Search procedure

You will be required to deposit belongings in a secure locker in the reception area. reception staff will provide you with a key for a locker.  

 

All visitors are given a rub-down search by a member of staff of the same sex. You will be talked through this process by the member of staff. All searching will be conducted sensitively and with consideration to personal dignity. You can choose to have the rub–down search in a private area.

 

There may also be times when search dogs are in the hospital. If this is the case, follow the instructions given to you by staff.

 

After the visit you will be escorted back to reception. From here you can collect your belongings and return your visitors badge and locker key to reception staff. If you have any concerns regarding any aspect of your visit please advise the staff in charge or speak to your relative or friend’s social worker.
