Involving service users in research
We were identified amongst top 50% of mental health trusts in the country for getting patients involved in NIHR adopted research. A recent league table published by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network shows we recruited 557 participants in 2013/14. Overall 2818 people participated in Trust research projects when student and Trust staff projects are included.
Income: The trust has successfully completed and delivered the second year of a three year project ‘‘Innovate Dementia’ in collaboration with our UK partners at Liverpool John Moores University funded from the INTERREG IVB funding stream. This project addresses the challenges faced by the increasing number of people living with dementia using collaboration in the areas of lighting, living environments, models of access, nutrition and exercise underpinned by the use of technology.
