NHS England will shortly begin contacting a small number of patients with out-of-date contact details via the NHS App to request that they update their information.
As part of a campaign to improve communication via the App, NHS England are contacting patients to underline how important it is to have up-to-date details so they can contact them about their healthcare.
By turning on notifications in the NHS app, patients can receive instant messages in relation to upcoming appointments. Patients are advised to follow a few simple steps, to update their email address and mobile number, which helps to eliminate bounce-back messages and reduce the number of missed appointments.
Anyone can check and update their contact details in the NHS App at any time. NHSE will be contacting a small number of patients for whom they have inaccurate details and there is no need for patients to take any action unless they are prompted to do so.
