Over the past seven months Mersey Care has been working closely with service users, carers and staff to ensure that services provided by our community mental health team currently based at Park Lodge in Tuebrook are safely and seamlessly relocated to modern, fit for purpose accommodation in Liverpool.
The planned move by the Park Lodge community mental health team is due to take place in October 2019, when its staff and services will relocate to Mersey Care’s Community Hub in Falklands Approach, Norris Green, with some associated accommodation at nearby Norris Green Health Centre.
Chief Operating Officer of Mersey Care’s Local Services Division Donna Robinson explained: “During our recent Care Quality Commission inspection we were informed that our patient accommodation at Park Lodge was no longer fit for purpose and the CQC asked the Trust to form a plan.
“From an early stage we have kept stakeholders informed of this future change and reassure service users that it will not diminish the service provided. This relocation will not affect care and treatment and planned out patient appointments and home visits have continued as usual.
“Now that the relocation is nearing we are trying our hardest to ensure any potential disruption is kept to a minimum. Our ultimate aim is to ensure that the buildings in which we provide clinical care are of the highest standards within our resources and meet the needs of service users, carers, staff and visitors for years to come.”
