The NHS Trust Development Authority (NHS TDA) has confirmed the appointment of Pamela Williams as Non-executive Director of Mersey Care NHS Trust.
Ms Williams brings over 20 years of experience operating at strategic Director and Board level to the post, most recently as Executive Director of Finance at Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.
She has previously worked as Director of Corporate Services at Ellesmere Port & Neston Borough Council and Chief Finance Officer at Burnley Borough Council. She will also remain a non-Executive Director of Manchester Mental Health and Social Care NHS Trust until September.
“I am delighted to be offered this role at Mersey Care and look forward to helping them achieve all their objectives during my tenure, These are challenging times for all mental health trusts and I hope my experience with Manchester Mental Health and Social Care NHS Trust will allow me to make a positive contribution,” she said.
Beatrice Fraenkel, chairman of Mersey Care NHS Trust, said: “Pamela’s addition will undoubtedly strengthen the Mersey Care team. We are constantly striving to achieve Perfect Care and her experience and know how will help us on that journey.”
Non-executive appointments to NHS Trusts made by the NHS TDA are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
Ms Williams’ appointment will run until 14 June, 2017 and she is entitled to receive a remuneration of £6,157 per annum. She has declared no political activity in the last five years.
