Rebecca Caffrey, a student health visitor with Mersey Care's services based at Bootle Health Centre, has won a prestigious national award by winning the Queen's Nursing Institute's Dora Roylance Memorial Prize.
This academic prize is offered for outstanding students who have completed the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Health Visitor programme and is presented on an annual basis. She won the award for her 'Outstanding Achievement as a Health Visiting Student.'
"Beckie has been a diligent student with tremendous resilience and perseverance completing the arduous Specialist Public Health Nurse Degree alongside ensuring her families all receive compassionate person centred care," explained Jan France, Mersey Care's under-19 Team manager at Bootle Health Centre.
"We're lucky to have her in our team and are delighted she has secured a full time position with us when she qualifies in September 2024."
The annual Dora Roylance Memorial Prize is named after a former Queen's Nurse, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 100. She left a legacy to the QNI that enabled them to create the student award.
