Mersey Care mark International Women’s Day with important debate

Mersey Care NHS Trust is inviting health and social care professionals, service users and carers and partner organisations to join an important debate at its International Women's Day and Think Family Seminar.

Held annually to coincide with International Women's Day on 8 March, this year’s free event will focus on “Women, mental health and the criminal justice system.”

Opened by Trust Chairman Beatrice Fraenkel it includes guest speakers exploring the experiences of women with mental health issues in contact with the criminal justice system.

Liverpool Mental Health Consortium will share findings from a local study and Mersey Care’s criminal justice and diversion service will explain its role in responding to the needs of women.

A presentation by Barnardo’s young carers will help delegates consider wider family issues, with time for group discussion and interactive session to celebrate International Women's Day.

It takes place 9.30am to 1pm on Tuesday 8 March at Oakmere Conference Centre, Cherry Lane, Walton, Liverpool, L4 6UG. The seminar is free but places are limited so booking is essential. To book contact 0151 471 2336 or email: communications@merseycare.nhs.uk
