Mersey Care's community nurses and trainee nurse associates (TNA) have received national and local recognition of their efforts towards patient care by picking up five prestigious awards.
Denise Davies, a specialist Community Public Health Nurse in School Nursing based in Bootle, Sefton, and Hannah Molyneux, a Safeguarding Adults Nurse based in Huyton, Liverpool, received Queen's Nurse awards from community nursing charity The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI), during a ceremony in London.
Their successes were followed by three further awards at Liverpool John Moores University apprenticeship awards, with Michka Munro winning their apprentice learner of the year award, Nicky Williams, a Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship, winning the prestigious apprentice of the year award and Samantha Waters winning the Making a Difference award.
Hannah received her award for showing ‘commitment to high standards of patient care and continually improving practice,’ while the judges thought Denise showed ‘commitment to high standards of patient care within school health.’
BBC Radio Merseyside have also highlighted the QNI successes by interviewing Hannah about the award and the value of community nursing, which you can listen to below:
In addition to Michka and Nikki's achievements, there were several other colleagues who received commendations during the Liverpool John Moores University's awards with Alison Murphy, Wendy Porter and Sandra Watkins finishing runners up in the making a difference award.
