Duke of Cambridge to visit Life Rooms as part of visit to Liverpool

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is delighted His Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge will officially open Life Rooms Walton on 14 September, 2017.

During the visit His Royal Highness will be given a tour of the Life Rooms and an explanation of the services on offer at the former Walton Library, which has been refurbished into a community hub and a base for the Recovery College.

Michael Crilly, Mersey Care’s Director of Social Inclusion and Participation, said: “We’re delighted and excited to have The Duke of Cambridge visit us here to see what we do at the Life Rooms.

“We know from their own ‘Heads Together’ campaign that Their Royal Highnesses are passionate about ending stigma around mental health, so for the Duke of Cambridge to come and formally open the Life Rooms we regard as recognition of what we’re also doing to promote recovery and positive mental health and wellbeing.”

Since Life Rooms Walton opened last May, more than 16,000 people have visited. We have since opened another base in Southport while capital funding has been secured for a third Life Rooms to be opened in Bootle in partnership with Hugh Baird College.
