National blood bottle shortage: all non-essential blood tests cancelled
Due to a national shortage of some blood bottles and an instruction from NHS England, the Trust cancelled all blood tests from 1 September and up to 17 September 2021.
Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems will still get one, and their appointment will be rebooked as a priority. All patients have been advised that their test will be reviewed by their GP/referrer to determine if they are urgent.
For all non-urgent appointments, you will remain routine and placed on hold until the situation improves. From this point you will be able to rebook your appointment in the normal way.
If you have a concern with regards to your blood test being urgent or non-urgent please contact your GP / referrer.
If you would like to speak to someone about anything else concerning your blood test, please call 0151 295 3730 and leave your contact details so we can call you back.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
