Equality Analysis

Equality Analysis at Liverpool Community Health

Equality Analysis offers an opportunity for our staff to think carefully about the impact of their work on local people and other members of staff. Our staff are responsible for making a wide range of decisions. Equality Analysis is a way of considering the effect of these decisions on different groups protected from discrimination by the Equality Act.

The two main objectives for Equality Analysis are to consider if there are any unintended consequences for some groups and to ensure that the policy or practice wont disadvantage anyone. It involves using equality information, and the results of engagement with protected groups and others, to understand the potential effects of the decisions that we want to implement.

Equality Analysis can help identify practical solutions to tackle negative impacts, to advance equality and promote good relations.

The Trusts Guide to Completing Equality Analysis provides staff with all they need to know about the Equality Analysis process. They will begin by completing an Equality Analysis Screening Tool which will help them to identify any potential disadvantage.  If negative impacts are identified staff will be asked to complete a Full Equality Analysis.
