What is a Quality Review Visit (QRV)?

QRVs are inspections undertaken by Mersey Care staff in each of the clinical services we provide. Each service will usually have at least one QRV each year and more frequently if it’s felt that the service needs further support.

QRVs review the service’s performance against quality standards aligned to the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC’s) five key questions – is the service safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led?

Following the QRV, the service will receive a rating of Good Plus, Good, Requires Improvement or Needs Support, alongside a report explaining the reasons for the rating.

Teams who are rated as requires improvement or needs support will be given additional support by their Divisions to implement any recommendations to address identified issues.

If you’d like further information about QRVs, please ask a member of staff or email our CQC Team.
