The Life Rooms expands access to free wellbeing courses.
The Life Rooms has included an introduction to running course with a qualified coach as part of their new Autumn timetable launched this week.
The ‘Jog On’ course, which follows the popular couch to 5k programme, is one of a number of popular topics in the timetable.
‘Journeys through Film’ will continue to run and other popular topics include ‘Understanding and Managing Anxiety’, ‘An Introduction to Mindfulness’, ‘Sleep SOS’ and, of course, ‘Mental Health Awareness.’
The Life Rooms, run by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, provides free mental and physical wellbeing courses across Liverpool and Sefton.
The college has bases in Walton, Southport and central Liverpool. It has more than 2000 enrolled students, uses satellite hubs across Liverpool and Sefton has launched its new timetable.
The free recovery based courses and resources are available to everyone, although aimed at those with lived experience of mental ill health, their friends, family and anyone who works for Mersey Care.
Courses are held at the Life Rooms Walton, the former Walton Library on Rice Lane, Life Rooms Southport, the former carer’s centre in Scarisbrick Avenue and a network of satellite hubs.
